USC News: Trojans Get Another Commitment in 4-star WR Quaydarius Davis

Clay Helton and company have had a busy recruiting season, already getting commitments from nine players from the class of 2021. Their newest commitment from 4-star WR Quaydarius Davis increases that number to ten.

Quay is said to be the 105th best player in the country by 247Sports Composite but ranked as the 17th best receiver.  The 6-foot 193-pound receiver is also seen as one of the top receivers in his class by Rivals.com, who have him ranked as the 21st best player in the country. The Texas native from Skyline High School in Dallas was originally committed to Texas before revealing that he had switched that commitment to USC on May 1.

He had planned on visiting the school before the Coronavirus pandemic hit, which stopped him from doing so.

Despite that set back the Trojans were able to secure his commitment as well as many others by virtually recruiting. Their efforts have landed the team in the top ten of the 2021 recruiting class.

247Sports Composite has them ranked at 7th while Rivals.com has them ranked 6th. This is a huge step for the program after being ranked in the 50s by many sites in 2020.

Even after an up and down season this past year, the Trojans showed promise coming into this upcoming season. They will bring most of that team back which garners high praise from head coach Clay Helton. After having not so great recruiting classes in the past, USC figures to finally receive a big boost in talent in the future.

Let’s hope that this recruiting class foreshadows more like it for years to come.
