Rams: LA Ranked 5th Best Team on ESPN’s Early Power Rankings

It hasn’t even been 24 hours since the Tampa Bay Buccaneers defeated the Kansas City Chiefs and yet ESPN is already looking ahead to the 2021-2022 season. While it may be too soon, you can hardly blame them as this season was filled with so much competition and unique storylines despite the ongoing pandemic. Rams fans might also be willing to let these early rankings slide as their season performance as well as the recent addition of Matthew Stafford have catapulted them to the top. According to ESPN, the Rams are the 5th best team heading into next season.

Only the Chiefs, Bills, Packers, and the reigning champion Bucs rank higher than Los Angeles. While it’s certainly a great place to be right now, a lot could happen before the season. Specifically, could the Rams add more talent to their roster? There have already been reports that Stafford has been getting texts from other players who could be seeking to join him in relocating to Southern California. If that happens, the Rams could be the Bucs of 2021 where a handful of talent followed Tom Brady to Tampa Bay.

Even if that doesn’t happen, the Rams are more than capable of achieving glory next season. The decision to pay a hefty price for Stafford shows that the franchise is all in. With a top ranked defense lead by 3x DPOY Aaron Donald as well as an offense that features the likes or Copper Kupp, Cam Akers, and Robert Woods, Los Angeles can take on the challenge any team may posses.
