The second half of the 2020 season, which was supposed to give the Rams trouble has instead formed them into a serious playoff contender. They head into week 15 with a 9-4 record tied with the Seattle Seahawks for first in the NFC West. Everyone outside of the fanbase counted Los Angeles out before the season even started, yet here we are.

The Rams have three games left with two of them being against the Seahawks themselves and the Cardinals. However, before they even get to a division showdown they will first have to go through the lowly New York Jets who are 0-13. While that may seem like a walk in the park, no team can be written off too soon.
During a video conference with the media on Monday, head coach Sean McVay was asked whether his team has the focus to stay competitive this week against a weaker opponent. McVay expressed that his team has the maturity and focus to get the job done, especially when there is still a lot to play for.
“For us, you know even today, are we in the playoffs yet? The answer is no and you know we accomplished a winning season and that’s all good and well but that’s not the goal. While I’m appreciative of what these guys have done, there’s a lot of things we still want to try and accomplish as a team, but the only thing we can accomplish this week is ensuring ourselves an opportunity to get into the Postseason.”
McVay is right. While the Rams have secured a winning season, a lot still hangs in the balance for his team in the coming weeks. For one, they still need to secure a playoff spot which they can do by winning their 10th game of the year, hopefully against the Jets. Not only are they still fighting to get into the playoffs, but they have yet to lock down the division and are still in play for the No. 1 seed. Passing the Green Bay Packers and New Orlean Saints is a tall task to overcome, but then again no one thought they’d be where they are.
