Rams News: Aaron Donald Named Rams’ Player Of The Decade By ESPN Writers

Add another chip to the shoulder of Aaron Donald folks. He was just voted as the Rams Player of the Decade by ESPN’s NFL Nation writers. Boom!

Over the last couple of weeks, ESPN’s NFL writers have been compiling names to be placed on their All-Decade teams. For the NFC West, the choice was pretty obvious if you ask me in, Aaron Donald.

I know I wasn’t the only one who thought Donald was the right choice as the group of writers had this to say:

“A two-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year, Donald entered the NFL in 2014 when the Rams drafted him with the 13th overall pick. He was named the NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year after he posted nine sacks and 18 tackles for a loss. In six seasons, Donald has 72.5 sacks, and in 2018 he set the NFL record for sacks by an interior lineman with 20.5, helping power the Rams to Super Bowl LIII. A six-time Pro Bowl selection and a five-time All Pro, Donald’s production has earned recognition from players across the league who have not only vouched for his future in the Hall of Fame, but have proclaimed him as arguably the best defensive player in NFL history.”

Donald has been with the Rams since 2014 and has grown every year to be a better player. Let’s face it, the dude is a beast. Another thing to add is that Donald has been selected to the Pro Bowl every year of his career. EVERY YEAR.

Name a better defenseman playing the game right now… I’ll wait.

No one? Didn’t think so. The 2020 NFL season is upon us and we all look forward to seeing Donald destroy the opponents O-line as usual. Horns Up!
