LA Roundup: Kenley Jansen Puts Work in at Local High School, LAFC’s Andy Najar Not Afraid of Chicharito and LA Galaxy, Which Lakers Must Step Up, and More!
In exactly one week, we will be seeing the first organized workouts out of Dodgers Stadium, and we couldn’t be more excited! Players have been preparing all spring, but nothing compares to the real team atmosphere. Dodgers closer Kenley Jansen is among those that have been putting in extra work before reporting, and he was recently spotted at Baldwin Park HS getting in a final tune-up before reporting to camp. Jansen’s 2019 season did not go as expected, so fans are all hoping that he will have a bounceback 2020 season.
Avery Bradley made it official that he would not be joining the Lakers in Orlando for the continuation of the season, leaving fans wondering who would step up in his absence. After all, you can’t just take out the starting point guard from a first-place team and expect them to transition seamlessly, right? Luckily, the guard position is an area of depth for the Lakers, and they have capable players ready to step in and fill Bradley’s shoes. He will definitely be missed, but one can’t fault him for prioritizing his family and community. All that remains to be seen is if anyone else will follow suit as the countdown to Orlando continues to shrink.
The MLS tournament will be must-see tv for Los Angeles fans, mostly because LAFC is the popular bet to win it all. Their journey to the cup, however, features a clash with LA’s other club in the LA Galaxy. LAFC newcomer Andy Najar was asked about having to face Chicharito, and the Honduran responded with a sentence that is sure to bring a smile to fans of the Black and Gold. We don’t want to spoil too much, but let’s just say his words bode well for the team’s chances of winning it all!
