Lakers News: LA Will Break Out the Black Mamba Jerseys Again in Game 2

The Lakers have had a secret weapon throughout their playoff run, and no, it has not been LeBron James or Anthony Davis.

With the tragic passing of Laker legend Kobe Bryant earlier this year, the Lakers have honored his memory this season by breaking out the Black Mamba inspired jerseys from a few years ago. In the three contests that they have worn the all-black jerseys, the Lakers have gone a perfect 3-0.

Well, it seems that LA is ready to take a commanding two-game lead here in the finals, because they will reportedly be wearing the Mamba jerseys again on Friday evening.

Originally, it seems as if the plan was to only wear the Mamba jerseys if the series reached a Game 7, but with the way this team played in Game 1, it’s a welcome sight to see the team wear that at least one more time guaranteed.

This Lakers team has been special all season, but they seem to play with a different gear whenever they wear their Kobe inspired jerseys. The Lakers have done an amazing job of honoring the memory of the all-time great, and an NBA title would be the Hollywood ending to a spectacular season for LA.

Game 2 is scheduled for Friday, October 2nd at 6 PM PT and can be seen on ABC.
