NBA News: Houston being Considered as Another Site for NBA Return

As the NBA starts to work its way towards a return of the 2019-20 season with team facilities opening up for player workouts, the next step is deciding where games will be played.

According to The Ringer’s Kevin O’Connor, the NBA has been considering various sites such as Orlando, Las Vegas, and now Houston. Orlando and Las Vegas still seem the most likely sits that the NBA will turn to but Houston offer s more facilities to use such as the George R. Brown Convention Center as well as the Toyota Center.  The two venues are extremely close to one another and could help make the return of a season much easier.

The use of such a site would help the league control the health and safety of players and staff than if they were to use multiple sites compared to one.  ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski appeared on The Dan Patrick Show and discussed how the league is planning to restart the season with one or two sites.

Even with that note, there is still the possibility of teams being able to play games in their own stadiums with even the Lakers and Clippers hopefully having that possibility with Newsom announcing pro sports could make a return in June. It all relies on the progress of all the states with NBA teams as well as the assurance of player safety.
