Lakers News: Magic Johnson Discusses a Kobe Bryant Documentary

ESPN’s documentary series on Michael Jordan has stirred up a lot of attention as it follows the former NBA star and the Chicago Bulls dynasty. Fans everywhere, especially Lakers fans, should be ready for the possibility of another documentary of a former superstar to eventually be released.

After watching Kobe Bryant in an interview for The Last Dance, many fans were wondering if a documentary featuring the beloved Kobe Bryant would ever be made or would be released.

During an interview on Entertainment Tonight, the former president of basketball operations for the Lakers and NBA Hall of Famer, Magic Johnson discussed the eventual release of a Kobe Bryant documentary.

“That’s definitely going to happen. I think he was smart enough to have a camera follow him, document every movement. So we’re gonna see a lot of behind-the-scenes things on Kobe and he’ll probably let us into his world with his family.”

This news couldn’t come at a better time. After learning about Kobe’s death along with his daughter Gianna and six other passengers, the city of Los Angeles went into mourning. You can just feel that the city had changed and an eerie feeling hung over it. The basketball world was also in shock as former teammates and young players who looked up to Kobe tried to cope with the news.

No doubt that many people would love to see such a project happen. Given that Kobe had so much to give the world still, a documentary about him would go a long way toward allowing his legacy to live on.
