Lakers News: Nike Silently Debuts New Kobe Bryant Shoe

Kobe Bryant was clearly the face of the Los Angeles Lakers and one can say that anything he touched was instant gold. Sadly, we all know he tragically passed away on January 26, which left a huge hole in fans’ hearts all over the world.

As many popular celebrities and sports figures pass, fans are quick to swoop up any merchandise that is related to that individual. The same can be said for Bryant. Jerseys, memorabilia, and even high-end sneakers were flying off shelves both online and in stores.

When Bryant passed away, Nike halted all releases of new footwear as well as stopped any restocking of Bryant’s merchandise as a huge sign of respect.

Shortly, after Bryant was named into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame, Nike, in a very respectful manner, decided to quietly announce a new Kobe Bryant shoe, the Nike Mamba Fury.

According to sources, the Nike Mamba Fury is to be a budget-friendly shoe at a set price under $100. The new sneaker offers a low-top look with Kobe’s signature logo and snake-like effects and will come in 3 different color sets (pictured above). Definitely a must-have for sneaker heads all over the world.

No official release date has been set by Nike, but the new shoe surely gives fans something to look forward to in the very near future.
