LAFC News: Brian Rodriguez Loaned to Spanish Club UD Almeria

After rumors that Brian Rodríguez wants to leave LAFC and head to Europe, his wish has recently come true. The club announced Monday that they had loaned the 20-year old winger to UD Almeria which is in Spain’s second tier league.

Rodríguez joins a new club that is on the verge of being promoted to La Liga, Spain’s top professional league.  The club also has the option to make the transfer permanent if certain conditions are met. While fans of Almeria may be excited for the arrival of their new player, LAFC fans didn’t seem to take his departure as a loss to worry about with all the options the team currently has.

While Rodríguez is young and boasts a lot of talent, his time with the Black and Gold never really worked out. In 26 matches for the club he’s only managed to score twice with 7 assists. His departure from LAFC does open up a Designated Player spot for the team with the other two being held by Carlos Vela and Diego Rossi.
