Dodger News: Mookie Betts Donates Toys to Nashville Youth

What can’t Mookie Betts do? The star outfielder helped aid the Los Angeles Dodgers to their first World Series win in 32 years. He brought his speed on the base path, his athleticism in the outfield, and his baseball IQ to the clubhouse. While he has been in the spotlight a lot more this season, it hasn’t stopped him from forgetting his community.

According to FOX17 in Nashville, Tennessee, Betts helped donate toys to the Metro Police’s Midtown Hills Precinct. The toys will be going to 23 families and 83 kids from the Edgehill neighborhood. He also surprised one lucky kid with a PS5 that has been so hard to come by.

This isn’t the first time that Betts has been involved with helping those in the community this year. Earlier this year he purchased groceries for shoppers at a Kroger store in Tennessee while also buying pizza for the staff.

Seeing big-time athletes such as Betts help those in need is always an amazing thing to see, especially right now when many people are out of work due to the pandemic. While it has surely been a year to forget, these kids are unlikely to forget the charitable act from the one and only Mookie Betts.
