Dodgers News: Baseball is Back, Players Take to Social Media to React

It has been a grueling three months without being able to watch the boys in blue do their thing but the baseball drought of 2020 is finally coming to an end.

As MLB Insider Jeff Passan and many others have reported, a deal for a 2020 season has finally been completed. A 60-game season featuring division play (40 games) as well as 20 against the AL West (get ready Astros) will take place starting either on July 23 or 24. Players are to report to their home stadiums for an abbreviated three week Spring Training 2.0 by July 1. That shouldn’t be a problem at all for the Dodgers as most of them have been already working out at Dodger Stadium while others have been in the next state over getting in some work at Camelback Ranch before its recent closure.

While Dodger fans have been yearning for baseball’s return, so have the players who took to social media yesterday to celebrate the news of the upcoming season.

Yes Muncy we’re READY!

Even Dodger broadcaster Joe Davis joined in and expressed his excitement to return in late July.

No doubt many Dodger fans including myself are excited to see some sort of season play out this year. While it won’t be the typical one we have become accustomed to, it will have some interesting storylines for fans to keep an eye out for while being filled with action-packed games that mean that much more. They’re built to overcome any obstacle they likely face this year en route to their 8th straight division title. While fans will likely not be allowed to attend games at Dodger Stadium this year and experience the renovation, at the very least it will be enjoyable to watch the Dodgers since the television blackout ended earlier this year. Just imagine all the great moments, including some Dodgers-Astros drama, waiting for us in the upcoming months.

Opening Day couldn’t come any sooner. Baseball is back and we’re ready, are YOU?
