Dodgers News: Mookie Betts Surprises Shoppers, Pays For Their Groceries

Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Mookie Betts surprised shoppers at a local Kroger in Bordeaux, TN by paying for all of their groceries. Betts also took care of the Kroger staff by buying them all pizza in thanks for all their hard work while being on the front line as essential workers.

Betts said that he wanted to assist the community due to the recent tornadoes in March and those who continue to fight the COVID-19 pandemic.

Betts, who is a Tennessee native, was born in Nashville on October 7, 1992. In 2010, Betts attended John Overton High School and after his junior year, he signed a letter of commitment to attend the University of Tennessee on a baseball scholarship.

On top of is baseball talents in high school, Betts was also named the Bowler of the Year in 2010 as he bowled a 290 in his junior year, which is a high school record, as well as an 827 three-game series.
