Dodgers News: Ross Stripling on Board with New 3-State Plan to Restart Season

Like many other players around the league, Ross Stripling has had his reservations about the plans to start the season. The idea of being isolated is not easy to digest, and he is quick to acknowledge that. In an interview on the “Fantasy Baseball Today Podcast“, he gave his thoughts on the proposed plans.

“When you start talking to baseball players and staff and telling them, ‘You know, you’re gonna be away from your family for possibly months.’ You know, guys are going to struggle with that.”

This has in large part been the problem with any proposal to start the season. It’s one thing for players to accept not playing in front of fans, but to be away from their families is asking them to pay a big price. Even so, Stripling has come around to the idea of doing whatever is necessary to start the season as soon as possible.

“At the end of day, that’s what we have to do to play baseball. I’m sure most guys would get on board with it,” he said. “At first, I was super back and forth, and now, well into April, I’m getting a little stir crazy. And if that’s what it takes to get baseball back, I’m certainly on board.”

MLB is certainly leaving no stone unturned in an effort to find a way to play as many games as possible this season. There is a lot of optimism around the league that they will find a way, as even Ken Rosenthal has faith that teams will work it out. The important thing is the health and safety of all players and staff be taken into account above everything else. As long as Baseball is able to find a way to do that while limiting the amount of time that players would be separated, Stripling believes players will buy-in.
