Dodgers News: Overflow Of Support For Vin Scully After Hospitalization

Thursday morning, the Los Angeles Dodgers had announced that legendary Dodgers broadcaster Vin Scully sustained an injury from a fall at his Southern California home this past Tuesday.

Like many of us, Scully was at his home practicing social distancing before he suffered his injury. He has since been hospitalized and expects to be home soon.

It wouldn’t be Vin if he didn’t let all his fans know he was doing fine in a Vin Scully fashion:

“I won’t be doing anymore headfirst sliding,
I never liked it”

After hearing the news of Vin’s accident, the world went to social media to express their concerns and support for Vin. The crew from SportsNet LA sent out a special video just for Vin:

Additional to players and celebrities, numerous fans from all around commented and posted on their own social media accounts as well as the Dodgers twitter once announced. Dodger fan Gina Martinez from Lancaster, CA posted a special message to Vin via her Instagram as many have.

Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti tweeted a heartfelt message to Scully, “Sending my best to Vin Scully for a swift recovery. We’re all rooting for you”. In a more comedy approach, such as ESPN’s Dan Szymborski, he tweeted out the following to Vin:

“Anything that harms vin scully should be illegal and that includes gravity”

Vin Scully is a national treasure to the majority of all baseball fans. His iconic voice and personality can bring light into any room with just a few words from him. Vin finally retired in 2016 after 67 seasons as the Dodgers broadcaster. His departure left a big hole in the baseball world that seemingly could never be filled.

Get well soon Vin.
