According to Bob Nightengale of USA Today, former Dodger Matt Kemp has reportedly agreed to a deal with the Miami Marlins to help fill their holes in the outfield.
Kemp’s deal is for a minor league contract, similar to the one he received from the Mets last year and will include an invitation to Marlins Spring Training.
If you follow Matt Kemp on his instagram, he’s been working out and enjoying life to the best that he can:
Kemp was spotted in San Diego for Winter Meetings, so he his efforts must impressed the Marlins enough to extend him this deal.
At 35 years old, Kemp still has a ways to go to build his value to a major league team. The last time he played in the big leagues, he hit .200/.210/.283 for the Reds after being traded there with Yasiel Puig by the Dodgers. He was released in early May where the Mets signed and then released him him in July.
