Dodgers Corey Seager Taken Out of Padres Game due to Hamstring Tightness

After coming off a National League Player of the Week award, the Dodgers have pulled shortstop Corey Seager from the Padres game in the middle of the fourth inning.

So far this season, Seager has been slashing .273/.336/.478 with a 112 wRC+ and 3.1 WAR in a season deemed a recovery season from his off-season elbow and hip injuries. Seager was also hampered by a hamstring injury this past June, but since returning from that injury, continued to slash at an even better rate of .298/.336/.478 with a 134 wRC+ which has been elevated with this past week’s award winning performance of .500/.520/.917 through 25 plate appearances.

The Dodgers have needed his offense and tonight’s precautionary move to take him out of the game is definitely the right move with only four games left in the regular season.
