The Los Angeles Dodgers are still a little over a week out from the postseason, but that hasn’t stopped them from preparing for potential matchups in October.

The Dodgers, who have solidly held first place in the NL West all season, were the first in the MLB to clinch their spot in the playoffs early last week.
If the season ended today, they’d face the winner of a Wild Card matchup between the Milwaukee Brewers and Washington Nationals in the NLDS, while the St. Louis Cardinals and Atlanta Braves would battle it out on the other side of the NL bracket.
Yet Another Playoff Matchup Against the Cardinals
If both the Dodgers and Cardinals advance past the first round, they’d add another series to a history of postseason matchups.
St. Louis won the last two times they faced in October, in the 2013 NLCS and 2014 NLDS, but the Dodgers may have the edge this year. In their most recent series in early August, the Boys in Blue were impressive with a three-game sweep over the NL Central division leaders.
The Dodgers would have home-field advantage in a potential NLCS matchup as well.
Should they get past the Cardinals and win their third-consecutive NL Pennant, the Dodgers likely matchup in the World Series would be against either the New York Yankees or Houston Astros.
As of right now, they’re two games back of home-field advantage throughout the entire playoffs.
