Clippers: Lou Williams Has Been Shining for Los Angeles

Just a couple of weeks ago, there were reports that the Clippers were looking to upgrade at the guard position with the acquisition of Derrick Rose. Instead, nothing ever materialized for Los Angeles as the New York Knicks ended up pulling the trigger to acquire the 32-year old. While he has been off already making an impact for New York, the Clippers may not be needing an upgrade after all, at least from the outside.

Los Angeles has instead been getting a huge increase in production from veteran guard Lou Williams. The Clips were looking for someone to make more of an impact in the playmaking department, Williams has answered that request while draining more shots along the way.

Just last night he managed to finish with 30 points and 10 assists, both season highs, en route to a 128-111 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers in a rare start. His performance was clutch for Los Angeles, who played without Kawhi Leonard and Paul George. Over the past 6 games, Sweet Lou has averaged 21.7 points, 5.5 assists, 3.2 rebounds, and 1.2 steals.

While Williams won’t always be getting an opportunity to start, if he can continue to provide high value off of the bench, then the rest of the league is in trouble. The Clippers have their eyes set on exacting their revenge this season and finally capturing that elusive NBA title. It always helps when you have players like Underground GOAT.
