As Mr. Rogers once said, ‘Look for the helpers‘ during scary times. The helper we’re looking at right now is Clippers’ owner Steve Ballmer, who committed to donating a hefty sum with his wife to help combat COVID-19.

Ballmer donated $25 million to the cause, with $10 million earmarked for the University of Washington‘s Emergency Response Fund. This is just a few days after it was announced that Ballmer would be purchasing The Forum in Inglewood, paving the way for a new home for the Clippers.
Surprisingly, there was some backlash on Twitter when it was announced Ballmer and his wife had made the donation. Apparently some people felt that $25 million was a small amount compared to what the Clippers’ owner is worth. But if you feel that this is not an incredibly generous gift, then I am not sure what to tell you.
COVID-19 has swept through the United States and essentially shut down the entire country in a matter of weeks.
