Chargers News: Bolts Sign Former XFL Offensive Lineman

It’s not taking too long for some former XFL players to find new homes. You can add former Los Angeles Wildcat offense tackle Storm Norton to that list as he inked a 2-year deal with the Los Angeles Chargers Friday. Norton posted to his Twitter today in sheer happiness over the signing:

Alongside Donald Parham, a tight end nabbed from the XFL’s Dallas Renegades, Norton would be second player from the XFL the Bolts sign to a deal. At only 25, Storm Norton is coming off an impressive shortened season in the XFL as he was the Wildcats #1 draft pick as well as listed as the leagues top offensive lineman.

Like Norton, several players have actually already previous roles in the NFL at one point, be it in the practicing squads or helping in training camps. With 10 games completed in the shortened XFL season, it was somewhat easier for NFL teams to take a look at what players can do. From there it was easy picking since it was considered experience in professional football.

So far there have been over 14 players that have made the jump from the XFL to the NFL. That number is sure going to increase in time as the (hopeful) 2020-21 season draws near. To many, such as myself, I believe the XFL would be compared to a minor league system for players to draw experience before making the jump into the NFL.
